The skies cleared, the scene was set, the teams were pumped and off we went!
Day one’s format had everyone playing in their own category, to decide a winner.
We had 4 x men’s teams and 4 x mixed teams, playing a straight league, and 2 x women’s teams playing a tri-series.
MIXED DIVISION
The mixed division saw Big Bang comfortably take the top spot with three wins. It was a tussle for second place, with all three other teams beating the one of the others, putting them all on 6 points. It all came down to Try difference separated the teams, in an exciting - down to the wire - category.
WOMENS DIVISION
The women’s Tri series went down to the last test to find a winner, after a thrilling second match, see-sawing between the stars and comets. The final try coming just 10 seconds prior to the hooter, putting the comets ahead by one. This result ensured that their final meeting was the decider!
MENS DIVISION
In the men's division, the Lionhearts were clear winners, with wins across the board, yet a really competitive division chasing them, as all teams fought hard to secure their ranking places for the Day 2 Shoot Out.
