FAQS: FAQ

WHO CAN TAKE PART IN ON THE SEVEN EVENTS?

Our aim is to bring high level, high quality, competitive Touch to those demographics that currently do not have many playing opportunities.

Our events are aimed at National and International teams looking for practice games in the 'off years' between international events, along with warm up games for major tournaments too.

These events are also open to high level club and regional teams to compete.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA?

Players eligible for the 2023 Touch World Cup in a given category, can ‘age up’ in our Seniors and Masters events.

This will allow them the opportunity to play with that squad, and give coaching staff the
chance to see them in a competitive environment.

WHAT IF I'M NOT DIRECTLY AFFILIATED TO AN NATIONAL TOUCH ASSOCIATION?

From our point of view, there's no direct membership or affiliation required.

Check with your own NTO if you're unsure or they have different requirements.

ARE THERE ANY REFEREE QUOTAS OR REQUIREMENTS?

Teams entering will not have a referee quota, but we welcome referees to apply to attend via the relevant link.

These events are a perfect opportunity to upskill referees too.

WHAT ARE THE KIT REQUIREMENTS?

Kit requirements are simple – matching kit, with no duplicate numbers is all you need. No specific logos, or sponsor restrictions are in place.

Come in your national kit or a kit of your choosing – it’s up to you!

HOW MANY TEAMS CAN WE ENTER INTO THE AGE CATEGORY EVENTS?

Our events offer additional opportunities for players, referees and coaches
alike, making them invaluable for the development of the whole of your squad.

Therefore, you can enter multiple teams

We aim to help countries national High Performance programmes to use our events to give additional opportunities, outside of training camps, to play competitively, in well organised, high quality environments. National Squads can enter two teams and use it for talent ID and selection purposes, as a team bonding exercise, or both!

WHAT ARE THE REFEREEING OPPORTUNITIES?

Our events are high quality and we need referees to suit. We will be inviting Level 2 and above/equivalent referees to officiate at On The Seven tournaments.

National squads deserve high performing referees at major events and this is a perfect opportunity to get ready for the big games!

WHAT ARE THE COACHING OPPORTUNITES?

Coaching courses are regularly ran, currently online, but putting theory into practice is another thing.

Making on the run decisions and coaching
interventions is a skill only practised and mastered with opportunities and mentoring, coaching and upskilling from coach developers.

ARE THERE UPGRADE OPPORTUNITIES?

We will be working with the relevant refereeing and coaching commissions to facilitate both mentoring and upgrade opportunities across the board.

ARE THERE ANY RULE DIFFERENCE FOR THE OLDER AGE CATEGORIES?

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY FEES?

These may differ slightly, across the range of events we run.

We aim to keep the entry fee below £20 per person per day, for a team of 16.

COVID-19 AND CANCELLATIONS

Events will adhere to any relevant Covid-19 guidelines at the time. Details of the latest regulations will be circulated in the event welcome email which all participants must familiarise themselves with.

If any event has to be postponed or rescheduled, teams will have the option to carry over their registration. If the event cannot be rescheduled, a full refund will be provided.

The Mens 45s and 50s categories will be allowed 18 players registered, with 16 players playing in any one game.

We recognise the need for player welfare and believe this will assist in player attrition and continued game quality.
